226-Covid Deaths of Indian Citizens abroad

Subject: Information regarding deaths reported from all missions (Embassies, consulates etc) from February 1 till May 31 2020
Please provide the following information
1. How many Indian citizen died due to covid 19 between February 1 and May 31
2. How many death certificates were issued regarding deaths happened between February 1 and May 31
3. How many enquiries came to missions regarding missing persons. Of these how many are still missing, how many found to be alive, how many found to be dead.
4. How many normal death, how many death due to heart attack, how many suicide, how many death due to COVID 19 happened between February 1 and may 31
5. How many enquiries did the missions received from relatives, regarding dead body of deceased persons?
6. How many dead body were buried locally, how many repatriated to India, how many still in mortuary
7. Monthly number of deaths reported every month since January 2019 to June 2020
8. Monthly number of death certificates issued every month since January 2019 to June 2020
9. What are the processes for disposal of dead body of Indian citizen followed by respective authorities
10. Is the foreign governments informing Indian missions regarding Indian citizen dying due to Covid , if so how many nos were reported. What is the procedure of local governments reporting to the missions?
11. Is the foreign governments informing Indian missions regarding Indian citizen admitted in hospitals due to Covid , if so how many nos were reported. What is the procedure of governments reporting to the mission?
12. Does the missions has any facility for citizens to inform the missions, if they are sick and if so, How many people reported to be sick.

The Philippine ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Adnan Alonto, also on Monday said that a total of 353 OFWs’ bodies were “now up for disposition” in the Kingdom.

“Of the 353 dead Filipino nationals, 107 were due to (the coronavirus disease) COVID-19, while 246 died of natural causes and various crime-related incidents,” the envoy added.

the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) already made a pronouncement that COVID-19 cases will have to be buried here (Saudi Arabia),” added Alonto.

In a separate TV interview, Locsin said the Philippine government was arranging chartered cargo flights to bring home the bodies of OFWs from Saudi Arabia.

At least five Bangladeshi physicians died of COVID-19 while serving in different hospitals and clinics and over 360 Bangladesh citizens have died in the disease across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia so far.
